A trucker died on the spot after a tractor overturned near Savargaon village in Chimur taluka at around 5 am, while the tractor driver is in critical condition.

Sachin Bapurao Meshram, 30, of Mouja Savargaon, died in a tractor accident. The youth was working as a trucker on a sand tractor.

The theft and smuggling of sand in the dark of night has been going on for the past several days. Today, January 16, in the early hours of the morning, while a tractor without a number plate was returning to Neri after dumping sand in Savargaon, the tractor overturned in a small Modivar field in front of Savargaon, and the laborer died after being crushed under the vehicle.

The said tractor belongs to Aniket Jambhule of Neri and the tractor has been used without a number plate.

The said incident is under investigation and the attention of the citizens is focused on what action will be taken against the tractor owner and driver.

This is the third incident of loss of life due to sand smuggling by a tractor in Chimur taluka. Earlier, youths had died after falling from a tractor in the Khadsangi area. After that, youths from Shivanpaili have also lost their lives.

However, it is a great tragedy that the revenue department cannot curb sand smuggling after such a big incident.

Therefore, it is not possible to say how many more victims the sand smugglers will take advantage of the darkness of the night. The area is mourning the loss of a young man.

This incident has once again brought the issue of sand smuggling to the fore. The public is now paying attention to what role the Revenue Department and the Police Department are taking.

Citizens are demanding that financial assistance be given to the families of the deceased and strict action be taken against the culprits, as well as the confiscation of the tractor. Further investigation is being conducted by the Chimur Police.

Illegal sand mining is going on in full swing under Chimur taluka, but since the Chimur Sub-Divisional Officer, Chimur Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Chimur Tehsildar, Chimur Thanedar are ignoring the illegal sand mining, will Chandrapur District Collector Vinay Gowda and Chandrapur District Superintendent of Police Mumakka Sudarshan pay attention to the caste? This question is facing the common citizens.
