Currently, the country is celebrating Amrit Mahotsav. The people’s representatives and the administration are complaining about the development of Gadchiroli district.
The students and citizens of Sakhera village have a question in their minds that Gadchiroli district has really developed?
Students have to do a lot of work to go to school. Students coming from Sakhera and other villages have to wade through the water of Potphodi river to reach school.
The work of the new bridge that is being constructed on this river is incomplete. Due to this, the students are facing the risk of getting their clothes wet while going through the river and getting swept away. Also, when the river has a lot of water, it is time to miss the education.
After heavy rains, the flow of the river increases. In such a situation, crossing the river can cost lives. But students are seen taking risk for education. The students and their parents have demanded that the administration should pay attention to this and start a school bus service to reach the students to the school.
The students of Sakhera village have to go to Government Secondary Ashram School, Lalamshah Madavi Secondary School and two other schools in Karwafa.
During the rainy season, this bridge used to come under the flood water. Due to this, the traffic on the Chatgaon-Pendhari road was stopped. The proposal to build a new bridge over the Potphodi river was approved by the district administration and the government to relieve the people of the area.
After that, the work of constructing a new bridge over the Potphodi River is being done by the Public Works Department. Due to the onset of monsoon, the construction of this bridge is currently closed in an incomplete state.
Sub-Divisional Engineer Ravindrasinh Chatta said that there is still a lot of time left to fulfill the construction deadline given to the contractor.
There is also a primary health center at Karwafa. Due to the difficulty of the river, the citizens of the area may be deprived of health facilities during the rainy season.
