Chimur :- The movement we are waging to repeal the law made by the then Bihar government in 1949 to manage the Mahabodhi Mahavihara is not a movement to liberate a monastery but a fight to liberate the system that enlightens humanity from the control of reactionary forces.
Even after the formation of the Republic, implementing anti-constitutional laws is treason. Therefore, this fight is in a sense a fight to achieve constitutional rights, said Ambedkarite thinker and famous writer Adv. Bhupesh Wamanrao Patil while guiding the grand march taken out at the Tehsil Office in Chimur.
A grand march and agitation was organized by the entire Buddhist community of Chimur taluka on behalf of the Chimur Taluka Mahavihar Coordination Committee to repeal the Mahabodhi Mahavihar Management Act. All Ambedkarites from every village in Chimur taluka participated enthusiastically in this agitation.
This agitation started from Samvidhan Chowk in Wadala. On this occasion, the procession that started from Chimur city in an orderly manner was 1 kilometer long. The presence of women was significant in this agitation.
All the protesters laid a wreath at the statue of Babasaheb near the Hutatma Smarak and after the Samata Sainik Dal saluted, all the protesters gathered in front of the Tehsil Office and the march was converted into a grand meeting.
While guiding this protest rally, Bhupesh Wamanrao Patil, a speaker of strong Ambedkarite views, said that after the constitution is implemented in this country, all the laws of this country should be consistent with the constitution and not inconsistent with it, which is why Article 13 of the Constitution provides a system to repeal all the laws implemented before the constitution came into force and which are against the constitution.
However, the profit-making class has kept such laws in force till date by giving commercial form to places of worship of the people.
Since the Buddhist community in India is peace-loving, it is fighting its fight through constitutional means and since this fight is getting international support for the first time, it is necessary for everyone to intensify this protest day by day until this black law is repealed.
Stating that this fight is not only for the liberation of Mahabodhi Mahavihar but also for the liberation of humanity, And. Bhupesh Patil also warned that if the distortion of the place of worship of the minority community is not stopped, there will be serious consequences.
Even in the scorching sun, all the protesters sat in discipline till the end to listen to the guidance. The protesters were greatly relieved when water bottles were distributed to the people participating in the protest by the social service organization Vamanrao Patil Smriti Pratishthan, which always helps in social work, through its secretary Suresh Dange.
The organizing coordination committee had also arranged cold water at various places.
On this occasion, Vilas Raut, N Kamble, Virendra Bansod, Dr. Dhammacheti also expressed their views. Prakash Meshram conducted the occasion and Shubham Mandpe gave the vote of thanks.
