“Diwali gift” to journalists! Or is this “Lakshmidarshan”?…

  News special..

 Prof. Mahesh Panse…

“Diwali gift” is our old tradition in the family system, this Diwali gift means pure and simple affection, love without any selfishness. There is also a precaution that your creativity will not be criticized.

However, the fact that the politicians and thieves businessmen (mafia) have started the tradition of forcing the journalists to visit Lakshmi Darshan in the name of ‘Diwali gift’ to kick the traditional sacred tradition of “Diwali gift”, though it is not new, is becoming more and more worrying day by day.

Is there really a feeling of love behind calling the reporters to the party office and giving them a Dakshina of four or two thousand, or is it a conspiracy to blunt their writing? This is a serious matter. People seem to be discussing this.

This year, since the elections are held in Diwali, people are seeing this kind of trick of Diwali dhaka of journalists. In almost all talukas of Chandrapur district, small workers of big leaders are seen busy in offering envelopes of 2, 4,000 rupees and 100 rupees worth of sweets to reporters.

In Mool taluka, there is a lively discussion going on at the party headquarters that the respected workers of the Honorable Minister are in the service of journalists more vigorously than every year.

The Diwali visit is welcome but there can be no doubt that this step will be a ‘slow-poison’ for the future of newspapers. Instead of joining this conspiracy and betraying our media, what if the journalists celebrated their Diwali with self-respect from the commission they get from such Lakshmiputras and contributed to running our media?

Even good journalists and readers insist that this will not blunt the pen and at least help preserve the fourth pillar of democracy.

Politicians and businessmen must give Diwali gifts to journalists, but the self-esteem of journalists should not be scratched. Senior and best journalists have said that the tradition should be maintained but the method should be for the benefit of the society.
