Pune :- District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwas assured that the district administration is ready to make the Vijaystambh greeting program to be organized at Perne Phata on January 1 a success in coordination with all the concerned government agencies and in collaboration with various organizations. He said that the followers coming for the program will not face any inconvenience and all the necessary facilities will be provided to them.
He was speaking at a meeting organized with various organizations at the District Collector’s Office for planning the Vijaystambh greeting program. Pune City Police Joint Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Santosh Patil, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute and BARTI Director General Sunil Ware, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam, Pune-Shirur Provincial Officer Sneha Kisve-Devkate, Haveli Provincial Officer Yashwant Mane, etc. were present on this occasion.
Stating that all facilities like drinking water, drinking water, toilets etc. will be provided to the followers coming to pay homage to the Vijstambh, Dr. Divase said that transportation arrangements, health arrangements, medical treatment etc. services will be provided. This time the number of toilets has been increased compared to the last time and 2 thousand toilets will be provided. Parking lots have been arranged at 21 places and if required, such arrangements will be made at more places. The facilities like parking lots, medical check-ups, toilets etc. provided in the area will be marked (signages) and color coding will be done and multi-colored balloons will be placed at the facilities so that the followers will be able to take advantage of those facilities immediately. Information about these facilities will be widely disseminated through social media.
District Collector Dr. Divase said that in coordination with the police department, proper traffic planning will be done on all the routes leading to Vijaystambh. Also, all measures will be taken in accordance with law and order. Efforts will be made to provide maximum buses to transport the followers from the parking lot to the Vijaystambh area. The number of PMPML buses has also been increased. Public Address System (PAS) will be implemented in the area, which will enable proper crowd control. The Victory Pillar will be well-decorated and beautified, and lighting will be provided on the route.
On the lines of Ashadhi Wari, families living in villages on the way to Vijaystambh should make their toilets available to the followers, and the Gram Panchayats will also be instructed to provide these facilities from their funds through the Zilla Parishad. Some Gram Panchayats have shown their readiness to make such arrangements. Buses will be planned for the followers on the way back after the program ends. Also, buses will be planned for the followers traveling by metro to reach the program from outside the metro station, he said. In the meeting, the office bearers and representatives of various organizations have made useful suggestions and by respecting those suggestions, they will be implemented positively to make the program successful. The heads of various implementing agencies, office bearers and representatives of various organizations were present on this occasion.
