          On October 3, Delhi Police’s Special Cell had investigated the homes of 46 writers, editors, journalists associated with the online news portal “NewsClick”.

        And both were arrested under the Unlawful Movement Act. Their mobile phones and computers were seized.

           Several media houses have written to the Chief Justice of India after the raids on the homes of journalists associated with NewsClick.

            In a letter written to the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, it has been mentioned that it has been requested to prevent misuse of government institutions to suppress the media.

         At the same time, the issue of maintaining freedom of expression has been raised before the Chief Justice through letters and the media houses say that the attack on the media is not only destroying their freedom but also affecting the democratic strength of the country.
